Dr. Chene's Updated Recommendations for Boosting Immunity and Minimizing Risk of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

It’s important to modulate (and not just stimulate) the immune system and also to decrease inflammation in order to avoid increasing cytokines. If you test positive for COVID 19 and are sent home to quarantine or have fever, cough, aches:

Stay quarantined until you test negative

Let fever rise (even as high as 104 but ideally at least 101.4 or more- aim for 102.2 for your body’s natural interferon increase) and assist this with infrared, sauna, very warm baths, bundling, sitting near fireplace with fire lit in order to help your immune response.  Do this daily for as long as you can stand it and you may repeat it.  Keep up on fluids or very warm bath or infrared sauna 1-2 hours twice daily

Aspirin - one 81mg or up to 325 mg aspirin daily if not high risk for gastric ulcers or with advanced kidney disease.

Maitake Pro D Fraction 12 drops three times a day

Vitamin A Palmitate 100,000 IU for 2 days  - then stop  (If the Micillized form just 10 drop per dose as it’s more highly absorbable)

Vitamin D3 - 50,000 IU daily for 2 days

Vitamin C 1000-1500 mg 2-4 times daily (until stool loose but not diarrhea)

Zinc 50 mg daily until well and continue for 2 weeks after, then 30 mg daily - zinc bisglycinate (Zinc Supreme) is best absorbed but any form of zinc can help

ALSO USE THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS DURING THIS TIME:

  • Use a mask when out in public to protect others, and physically distance to protect yourself. Though viral particles can get through masks, it does help stop the most contagious droplets

  • Do not touch your face (or anyone else's) unless you wash your hands immediately prior to and afterwards as well

  • Avoid public restrooms if possible - these germs aerosolize in un-lidded toilets when flushed

  • Use your Far Infrared light (if you bought one through my office, if not can get through link on this website) put over chest as lymph cells are stored under breastbone or sauna daily if you have one

  • Avoid fried foods and omega 6 (vegetable) oils in cooking- favor olive oil or even coconut oil at this time in order to discourage pathway that produces inflammatory cytokines

  • Avoid alcohol, sugar, reduce grains and junk foods.  Eat plenty of vegetables, chicken soup, and adequate protein - 50-70 grams divided in to 2-3 meals during the day

  • Try not to stress, as stress impairs your immune response.  Don't watch the news all day

  • Stay connected with friends and loved ones by text or social media- try FaceTime!

  • Moderate exercise is good

  • Get outside for some sun for 20-30 minutes at non peak hours, and fresh air at least once a day.  Enjoy the natural world.

  • Use this time to pray, meditate and connect with God, focusing on the essence of life and what it's really all about. Take time to focus on what you appreciate and feel grateful for. This can help reduce stress and improve immunity as well.
