About Dr. Chene

Dr. Janet Chene is a licensed medical doctor whose interest and expertise is in disease prevention and healing of the human body, mind, and spirit.

She practices at the Healing Arts Center, an Integrative Healthcare setting in the Texas Hill Country city of Kerrville. Integrative Medicine blends the best of modern medicine with natural methods whenever possible to obtain optimal health for each patient.

Dr. Chene completed both her Internship and Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Afterwards, she practiced Emergency Medicine during which time she was also appointed to the teaching faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Chicago Medical School. During her eight years as faculty at these institutions, she was able to pursue her long time interest in scientifically supported ways to help patients achieve and maintain health naturally. Dr. Chene became interested in this approach even before she entered medical school, as she wanted to be able to treat patients in a more humane and less intrusive manner. She has undergone additional training in recent advances in nutrition and in the use of genomics (gene testing) to help her patients achieve optimal health. Dr. Chene also practiced Emergency Medicine for 10 years. She is Board-Certified in Family Practice Medicine also is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.  

Besides studying medicine, Dr. Chene also enjoys gardening, kite flying, music, and kayaking, and cooking healthy.
